This weekend I threw together a quick prototype Alice bow for a dress I have coming in the mail.
I used this tutorial but modified it a little. First off I added an additional layer that hangs down the sides of the bow (it’s as wide as the top layer of the bow, but twice as long). Secondly I only backed the bottom layer of the bow with interfacing. I’m pretty happy with it but, I think next time I’ll make the bow a little smaller.

As the summer progresses and outside temperatures become sweltering while the inside of my office remains at Arctic lows, balances must be struck. I realized that I needed sweaters to prevent my death by cryogenic freezing, but I couldn’t wear winter sweaters without dying of heat stroke when going out again thus: the cardigan!

After letting the fabric for this project sit under my coffee table for a long time I finally got around to making my boatneck 40s blouse.

I’ve been watching a lot of Land Girls lately, and I’m really digging that 40s aesthetic. I realized that I bought a 40s style blouse pattern a few months ago and as I just finished my giant comfy crochet sweater I think it’s time to start a new project!

A few months ago I started a sweater and then I kind of laid it aside in favor of holiday-family-fun times. This month however I have picked it back up and slain the beast that is procrastination!

As I was waiting for my pounds and pounds of yarn, I thought to myself, let’s cut out the middle man: I’ll make my own yarn!
